Gorgeous Miss Charlotte

I have been itching to share the rest of the images from this session with you, and now I can! For those of you that are hesitant to have a session at home as you’re worried about lighting and space, this is an example of exactly those two problems and how I work around it.  These images were in Charlotte’s cot, there was a spare bed half a meter away and one window facing the cot. Admitedly I would have looked pretty funny and I’m sure that’s half the reason for Charlotte’s gorgeous grin.  Basically I was on the bed and beside the cot with Mum directly behind me, so I had baby’s attention and gaze. Small spaces can give big results, the last image won me a silver award at last years AIPP Victorian print awards. Enjoy these beautiful images of 10 month old Charlotte.  B x

Autumn Goodness

I’ve been waiting to share these with you guys for a while, we were rained out back in April and this was the second date that we made.  So lucky with the weather this gorgeous Autumn day and so glad we waited. Here is Nathan in Healesville. B x ≈

Fi & Chris

Sticking with the winter theme I seem to be running this week, I did mention gorgeous coats and loads of hugs? These images were taken towards the end of last winter, did I mention I’m behind on my blogging lol!  Since this shoot, these guys have been engaged, married and are expecting their first baby really soon. I know I say this a lot about my clients, but these guys were just so relaxed, fun and so in love.  It really was beautiful to see them together and such an honour to take their portraits prior to the next stage in life. Guys, wishing you all the best on the arrival of your little person, you will make amazing parents. B xx

Winter in Melbourne

Brrr!! So winter is here, never fear!  It doesn’t mean you have to wait to have your portraits taken! Winter means warm coats, umberellas and Melbourne in a whole different light, literally.  As in winter provides beautiful soft light. And not just cute little people in raincoats and wellies can have their photos taken.  This session was of ‘Big kids’ with Mum and Dad, which can mean coffee and cake whilst waiting for the rain to ease. Melbourne city, I do love you so! And I love the images of this gorgeous family too. B x

Happy Birthday Judy!

I love birthdays, especially milestone ones as they are extra special and need extra special celebrations. Yummy food, gorgeous location and weather.  But best of all, good company! I hope you had a wonderful birthday Judy, thanks so much for having me. xx

Ryan

As I’ve mentioned in earlier posts recently, I have the pleasure of photographing families as their children grow. Ive taken Ryan’s portrait three years running now, and each year is just as much fun and heart melting as the year before.  Photographing Deb and Ryan together is such a joy as the bond they share is so, so sweet!  I may just have to do another blog later in the week that has the last three christmas for you so you can see what I mean. But for now, here they are in all their spunkiness.  I challenge you to not sigh at their cuteness. x

Giggles!

Yep, its that time of the year where I play ‘blog catch up’.  Where I share with you my fave sessions from December and January, where I was too busy shooting to be blogging (and maybe wrapping a few christmas presents of my own.) This is gorgeous Caitlyn, whom I have photographed for a few years now and its always so much fun!  She loves to perform and will happily break into a song and dance number at the drop of a hat.  I find thats when I am able to capture Caitlyn being Caitlyn.  She also seems to like my jokes, or is that a polite sympathetic giggle perhaps? Hmm, probably! Here is the pure sugar sweetness that is Caitlyn. xx

Ruby anniversary

Oh to have a love that you can celebrate 40 years of marriage! The warmth and love that this family radiated had me beaming the whole time I was shooting.  Family and life long friends coming together to celebrate a couple that have built such a gorgeous life and family together. A taste of a fabulous day, thanks for allowing me to capture such a special day. xx

Personal post 'Simple life'

Some days you just have to turn off everything, devices, phones, work, your mind and do something simple with your small people, to remind you what its all about, why you do all you do.   Taking pleasure in the simple things. xxx

And some more beautiful

So I am too excited to wait till tomorrow!  Here is Julia, gorgeous Mum of Blake whom I have photographed many times before, so it was defo her time in the spotlight. xx
