Another milestone birthday….

Polite people don’t speak of age ūüėČ ¬†But I will say it was a milestone and Lyn certainly doesn’t look her age! A gorgeous afternoon at Werribee Mansion, two funny little ladies and a cuddly little man, lots of fun was had! ¬†Happy Birthday Lyn! x

Sometimes the¬†simplest backdrop can be the most effective and this park hit the spot. Sarah and her family were in town from WA for christmas, all the family in the one spot at the same time calls for a photo shoot, well I say it does anyway! I love extended family shoots, lots of loud fun, totally relaxed as the Dads tell their Dad jokes and the kids talk to me about kid stuff. ¬†Cause I’m up with the kid stuff, well enough to make them think that I am ūüôā So we had some fun running, having cuddles and pulling faces. ¬†B x

Linda & Greg

It’s not every day that you meet someone on their wedding day. ¬†This poor couple had their photographer cancel on them the week before their big day, so normally I would have met the couple well before they were getting married, but I met Linda and Greg only an hour before they were married! Thankfully Linda and Greg were very relaxed and Linda’s girls so lovely, we were in the swing of the pre-ceremony portraits within minutes. ¬†Taking their portraits in the Treasury gardens was fab! We then moved onto the Old Treasury building to the registry office for the ceremony and then they had a lovely afternoon tea at The Windsor to celebrate. I’m only sharing the pre-ceremony portraits for now, after the family have seen the rest I will share more, I promise! Linda and Gregg, thanks so much for having me along for the ride, hope your relaxing spa retreat was gorgeous and I’ll speak to you soon! ¬†B xx

Fiona & Chris get engaged

So you may remember this lovely couple from a blog post a little bit ago, I also had the pleasure of capturing their engagement party last year and am finally sharing it with you now. Fiona and Chris had an afternoon tea party at Rosebank Receptions in Nth Ringwood. ¬†It was a family affair, kids made super welcome with their own table and further tables outside on the lawns, all provided¬†a fun relaxed vibe. Fiona had asked for me to not only capture the day’s moments, but also to take family photos for her guests so as to have very personal thank you notes later on (this lady thought of everything!) The cake was gorgeous and Chris’s speech super¬†long (and very funny!) ¬†There were little girls twirling in front of beautiful mirrors, smiles and lots of hugs. ¬†A gorgeous couple and a gorgeous day. Here is some of the love. ¬†B xx And here is my second shooter for the day, he was a champ ūüėČ

Fi & Chris

Sticking with the winter theme I seem to be running this week, I did mention gorgeous coats and loads of hugs? These images were taken towards the end of last winter, did I mention I’m behind on my blogging lol! ¬†Since this shoot, these guys have been engaged, married and are expecting their first baby really soon. I know I say this a lot about my clients, but these guys were just so relaxed, fun and so in love. ¬†It really was beautiful to see them together and such an honour to take their portraits prior to the next stage in life. Guys, wishing you all the best on the arrival of your little person, you will make amazing parents. B xx

My three.

A quick after school trip to check out my location for Sundays Autumn sessions.  This is how NOT to dress your children for a shoot, covered in logos and and a spiderman suit that is clearly WAY too small. Thanks goodness its his birthday next week so he will be getting a new suit! I have two sessions left for Sunday afternoon, buzz me if you want to come and play in the leaves! This is the only day I will be in healesville, the May session will be in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, so call me quick if this is where you would like to be! B x

I love cheeky monkeys

And these two rascals didn’t disappoint, hilarious! ¬†Brother and sister that are equally funny and up for a laugh, be it laying on the grass or up in a tree! So glad you hung out for your session Kate. ¬†It was perfect weather, so worth the wait and so lovely to meet you and your gorgeous family. B x

It's time it was just about YOU!

Ive been promising to show you something Ive been working on for a while now, something to make you, yes you feel special! Ive always been better with pictures than with words, so no more stalling, here’s to seeing yourself in a way you haven’t before. x

C & D :)

So these gorgeous guys are the parents of the beach house babies that I have just blogged. ¬†I LOVE when parents say ‘Belinda, can you take some shots of us alone?’. ¬†Not only does it celebrate your relationship, but I know my kids love looking back at pics of me with their Dad, I also remember doing the same as a kid. Im terrible at remembering to be in photos with the kids or actually ‚Ķ. ever! ¬†Part of being a photographer? ¬†No, not really, I don’t particularly enjoy having my photo taken, which a lot of parents seem to identify with. Of course I say ‘I’d love to take your photos together, when was the last time you had some portraits for yourself?’ ¬†Usually the response is their wedding day. ¬†Thats a huge chunk of your history that’s not documented, which is really sad. So, do yourself a favour, be it booking a couples session with me, or asking during a family session if I can steal you away for a few minutes so you guys can be ‘just you, not mum and dad’ for a bit. ūüėČ Belinda x
